The
Buckboard Celebrates First Year Under New Ownership
The Buckboard is one
of those antique stores that people are surprised to discover.
For 10 years it has been tucked away in the West Gate
Plaza behind Furr's Cafeteria.
"Yes, we're hard to locate, but antique collectors
are a persistent bunch. They keep trying until they find
us," says new owner Rick Sandoval.
Rick
took over the store last July when the previous owner
retired. The Buckboard's dealers then pitched in to clean
and paint the store.
"Our dealers are great! Most of them have been with
the store for over five years. They've put a lot of time
and effort into getting the store back on it's feet. Without
them, the Buckboard wouldn't be here," says Rick.
The Buckboard has only 16 dealers, but there is an amazing
variety of merchandise. Old toys, advertising collectibles,
Roseville, Coors and southwest items are only a sampling
of the fun things to be found in the store. There is also
more pieces of fine furniture being featured than before.
New merchandise arrives almost daily and customers are
encouraged to stop by often.
The
Buckboard is located at 3265 S. Wadsworth, two blocks
north of Hampden on the west side next to the Colorado
Driver's Test Station. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, please
